Why is he trying to ruin the economic lives of millions and millions of people by no longer buying oil from the people of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, etc?

First of all, you forgot Venezuela. Second, I'm pretty sure we don't buy anything from Iran.





And, to a further point. Look at Dubai. Not the biggest oil country, but they are astute enough to have seen the future. They have created a vacation spot out of their tiny Emirate - to attract Europeans. Bascially the only things you can't do are buy liquor in a store (though it's available at a hotel bar) and be alone with an unmarried woman in the same room.
