thanx!Where can i buy motorcycle oil locally? what type of oil do i need to buy?
Go to a motorcycle dealer if there's one nearby. If not many auto parts stores carry MC oil.Check your owners manual for proper SAE specifications. Many newer motorcycles do require oil with certain additives that won't be found in regular engine oil.If your in a bind and don't have any MC oil avilable go ahead and bring in up to the fill line with car oil but make sure the it's the same weight.Where can i buy motorcycle oil locally? what type of oil do i need to buy?
Your best bet is to go to your local motorcycle shop/dealer, they would obviously have the oil you are looking for. I suggest a 20w-40 oil, such as Yamalube. There are many others out there as well, such as Bel-Ray, Golden Spectro, and Klotz. The type of oil you need is a motorcycle-specific oil, not your ordinary automobile oil. What you want depends really on your preference.
baically you want a motorcycle oil because it has higher sheer resistance due to the fact that most bikes are unitized meaning that the tranny is using that oil to. Mobil makes an excelent motorcycle oil as does bel ray.Rock oil is primo if you can find it.
I get mine at Advance Auto Parts I run Moble One Synthetic V-Twin blend.
